You can send a message to another user on S4DS by following these steps.
1. Initiate a message in any of the following ways:
• While viewing someone's profile, click the "Send a Message" link under their profile picture.
• Type someone’s name into search and click the "Send a Message" link that appears on the right side of any search result.
• Click on "Messages" in the left column of your home page, and select the "New Message" button. Enter the name of a friend, friend list, or an email address you would like to message. For now, the system only allows you to send a message to one S4DS contact. Our default is to allow anyone on S4DS to contact you via a message. This means that even people who cannot see your profile can message you. When you message someone, your message goes into his or her Inbox. There will be a notification on that person's home page as well. You currently cannot attach files to your messages. Because of the speed you are send messages at, S4DS has a 60 seconds wait between each message sent. By Default, the first page in your Inbox will show the first 20 messages. To preview earlier messages, click on “Next” on the lower part of the page. You can delete a message in two ways:
1. Select the messages you wish to delete and click on “Delete message”
2. Click on the “x” that appears on the right side of the message. If you wish to stop receiving these invitations or S4DS remainders, simply change the configuration on the “Profile” tab and select “Privacy”. To control what notifications you receive, simply change the configuration on the “Profile” tab and select “Privacy”. |
