Presenting your one big idea

Public presentations can always be very scary. Not everyone has the ability of speak freely and freshly in front of a serious looking group of persons. In that moment, you probably have about a dozen of facts, numbers and ideas in your head. And that’s one of the first mistakes we make. We try to expose many ideas, making it harder for others to retain so much information.
When exposing our business ideas to others, we have to realize that the communications skill we use can mark a huge difference. One way to do this is to focus on one idea. Sure you can think: 1 idea? But I have so many! But if just focus on that idea in which you believe in the most. That way you can assure your audience will remember that one important point.

So, what might a great one idea presentation look like? To make a great idea presentation you should:

  • Show why other will love this idea.
  • Show specific actions of your idea.
  • Tell why you chose this ideas from the others.
  • Don’t do more than 15 slides.
  • Take about 20 minutes. No more.
  • Have in mind a clear goal for your audience.
  • Practice, practice, practice. Great speakers always practice before there presentations.

So you've got to keep it simple. And by doing that you have a better chance to sell that successful idea. Remember, it is all about what we communicate.
